Last night I told Dylan we need to make a wish list for each other for Christmas. He’s surprisingly hard to shop for and I want to make sure I get him something he really wants for our first Christmas together. I’m also trying to come up with a wish list for him and for my folks. Seems like every year I get things i don’t really want, or end up throwing away. Also I get a lot of candy in my stocking, and I’m going to request that no one give me any of that this year. I’ve gained way too much weight! Maybe I should ask for some Orovo all natural supplements in my stocking. Ha!

While we talked about Christmas gifting last night, I went to go make a list on my home laptop. That’s right about the time my home computer decided to DIE. One minute I was clicking on a web link, the next minute the computer was frozen. I rebooted it, and up popped the folder with the question mark. Any mac user will know this is the equivalent to the PC blue screen of death. I was so sad! My hard drive failed, and my Christmas video project along with it. Luckily I backed up most of my photos and videos onto my external, but still. That was at least 3 hours of work that I didn’t back up. Now I guess a new hard drive is on my list. Major bummer! Thank god I have a work laptop, so I can make a new project from scratch. Too bad my pc can’t load the pictures on my external drive.

So if anyone out there has a spare mac they want to loan me for the next month, I’d appreciate it. Hahah!

Well this week I haven’t exactly been following my workout plan. I was good last week for the most part. I went for a 10 mile run with Team in Training and it was a lot harder that I expected. We did a training with “rolling hills” more like KILLER hills. My feet were throbbing by mile 5. I was running with some other girls from the team that I don’t normally run with, and they pushed me to keep going. We ran the full 10 miles, and I have to thank them for it, because I couldn’t have done it by myself.
I went home and decided to try a cleanse that my doctor had recommended. He said if I did it, it’d be like starting with a “clean slate” and I’d be feeling much better. Right…
So after running 10 miles, there I was on a pure liquid diet, drinking this junk called miralax and trying to rest up. I spent most of the day in the bathroom ( I know, too much information). But seriously people, if you are considering this, I don’t recommend it at all. I was in so much pain, and by late afternoon I said forget it. I was supposed to do it for two days, and I decided that just drinking extra water and watching what I eat is enough cleanse for me. I have read a lot about the merit of cleansing, but I’ve also read counter arguments against it. So we’ll see-right now with all the training I’m doing, I don’t think a liquid diet even for just two days is a good plan. I had the worst headache! Needless to say I spent the entire day Sunday resting and enjoying my meals.

Got this from my oh so mature boyfriend. Don’t you just love it? Seriously love the names, I’m a huge muppet fan. Hehehe.

I am on a mission to pay off my debt as fast as possible. This mission of course requires money, which I have little of. I’m also trying to save up for a house, another little venture that requires a sizable amount of dough.
I’m always looking for ways to make a little extra cash here and there. I’m not sure what happened this month, but I have a feeling gas prices have something to do with my empty wallet. I am normally pretty comfortable, and can afford to go out to eat every once in awhile, and I am confident my bills are paid. I watch how much I spend, but I’ve been fortunate enough to have a little cushion. Well the cushion ran out this month, and payday could not get here faster. I think the fact that it costs twice as much as it used to to fill my gas tank could be a big part of it. I can’t believe the prices! Here in California it’s up to $4.51 and that’s the “cheap” gas. Grrr…with these prices I feel like my car has become a money pit. The idea of paying for an oil change or heaven forbid new car parts is out of the question. If I lived closer to work I would definitely bike, and give my car a much needed rest. I really hope things change soon as far as these prices go, because I’m gonna have to start eating ramen again, yikes!

So they say right now it’s a buyer’s market for houses. I’ve been looking at houses like a 12 year old boy looks at his first playboy. I scan through the listings hungrily, and I daydream about what my first house is going to be like. I think what excites me the most is the chance to fix it up. I’ve always wanted to go on one of those home improvement shows they have on the Discovery Channel. Have you seen those crazy new sinks they have? They have farmhouse sinks and vessel sinks that look pretty snazzy. I don’t know if I’d be able to afford those kinds of improvements right away, but even being able to paint would be nice. I can’t wait to get out of apartment living and into something I can call my own!

Yesterday I couldn’t leave work fast enough. Researching dell memory and doing other such tedious tasks felt like it was taking forever. You know when you have something to look forward to the time goes that much slower? Funny how that is. I was so excited because after work it was Ladies Night! I went out with my favorite ladies, EB and KJ to happy hour filled with margaritas and laughs, followed by the much anticipated watching of the Sex and the City movie! It was just as good as I had hoped it would be, and perfect for Ladies Night. We laughed, we cried, we awwwed, we sighed with wistfulness. It was nice to spend an evening out with my girls. We definitely need more of those!

Finally the primaries are done and the democratic party has a candidate. I was jumping around my living room for joy when I heard the news. GO OBAMA!!! I am so so so ready for a change. I am not going to preach, all I am going to say is I can’t wait for change. I can feel it in the air. “It is our time to offer a new direction for this country that we love. This was the moment, this was the time that we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals.” Whenever he speaks I get goosebumps, I get PUMPED. I just hope that America is ready for change because I know I am.
