1. To lose about 10 pounds in the next two months would be amazing. So what I’m wishing for is the will power to stick to a workout routine. It’s going to be rough with the holidays too-all the food is so tasty. So I think I’ll just have to work out extra hard whenever I eat anything less than healthy. Fudge? Drop and give me 20!
2. For sure knowing where we are going to live come January. Right now we have a great opportunity, but nothing is for sure. I hate the unknown and it will be so nice to have that all figured out.
3. For Dylan to be done with his fire academy-something I will get right before Christmas. I just can’t wait to be able to spend our weekends together. Just the idea of sleeping in and then cooking breakfast sounds like the best present I could ask for.
4. For everything this Christmas to go smoothly with my ridiculously large and extended family. I want to share my Christmas with both my family and Dylan’s. My family can be less than understanding of that at times, and it annoys me. This year though, I can’t wait to have Dylan with me to share in all the activities!

While we talked about Christmas gifting last night, I went to go make a list on my home laptop. That’s right about the time my home computer decided to DIE. One minute I was clicking on a web link, the next minute the computer was frozen. I rebooted it, and up popped the folder with the question mark. Any mac user will know this is the equivalent to the PC blue screen of death. I was so sad! My hard drive failed, and my Christmas video project along with it. Luckily I backed up most of my photos and videos onto my external, but still. That was at least 3 hours of work that I didn’t back up. Now I guess a new hard drive is on my list. Major bummer! Thank god I have a work laptop, so I can make a new project from scratch. Too bad my pc can’t load the pictures on my external drive.

So if anyone out there has a spare mac they want to loan me for the next month, I’d appreciate it. Hahah!

52. My favorite season is fall. I love it when the leaves change color and it gets cold outside. I think it’s the prettiest time of the year, and the most comfortable weather and clothes wise.

53. I hate it when people I don’t know very well call me “Little Tess”. It bugs me a lot, and makes me feel like I’m a little kid. From my friends that I know and love I find it endearing but when my secretary does it I want to punch her in the face.

54. I’m a lil bit fiesty.

55. I used to have a really hard time falling asleep. I’d lay in bed and my mind would race, and then I’d toss and turn and get up ten times a night. Now I sleep like a log-I think it’s because I let go of a lot of stress in my life.

56. I lost a lot of friends when I stopped drinking for a year. It really showed me who my true friends were.

57. I can’t stand it when people say “What can I do you for?” It sounds dirty and it’s a dumb phrase.

58. I hate fake phone voices-like when people act super sugary sweet on the phone and it’s not their normal speaking voice. What is that?

59. I love Christmas. I decorate like crazy for it and I love everything from the songs, to the family time, to the food, to the specialty drinks (peppermint schnapps you are so good). Every year it looks like Christmas exploded in my house.

60. When I was a little kid I used to insist that we cut down our own Christmas tree instead of buying it. This would already result in super ugly Charlie Brown looking Christmas trees that I thought were beautiful.

61. I can’t fold clothes and it really bugs me. No matter how hard I try, they still look messy.

62. I’m the worst liar in the world. I can never get away with it-you can always tell. I twitch, I stutter, I blush, and I just look uncomfortable.

63. I want to write a book or a screenplay someday. I think it’d be a lot of fun but I’m not sure where to start.

64. I have a hard time trusting girlfriends, and I have a hard time keeping them. Girls usually equal drama, and I’ve been badly burned in the past. There are just a few girls I’m really close to, and I cherish their friendships!

65. I’m terrified of spiders, and I turn really girly when I’m confronted by them. I’m not proud of this. I don’t even like the fake spider we put up for Halloween.

66. I was bitten by a spider and got really sick, contributing to my fear above.

67. I was voted “Most Spirited” in high school.

68. I didn’t have that many friends in high school, but somehow I was crowned Homecoming Queen. The popular girls got mad and didn’t put my queen picture in the yearbook, all I got was a mention of my name. First queen in the history of our school to not be pictured. See-girls can be cruel!

69. I’m at my heaviest I’ve ever been, but I’m also the healthiest I’ve ever been. I’m learning to accept this and be OK with it. I would still like to lose 10 pounds and stay this healthy.

70. I struggled with an eating disorder in middle school and high school. I hid it pretty well, and mastered the art of eating around my food. I never took a diet pill but I came close. I fainted once from lack of nourishment and my parents had an intervention for me.

71. I love making lists (Yes Queen, I’m a huge list maker too). I make to do lists, shopping lists, and most of all wish lists.

72. I want to go somewhere cold on my honeymoon, like Alaska or Switzerland. I think cold equals more cuddle time than warm.

73. I always seem to have random songs in my head. For example 90% of the time when I’m getting ready to take a shower, I start singing, “I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts, fiddly dee.” Now I’ve even got Dill doing it. Hehehe.

74. Whenever someone takes a picture of me, I have two go to poses. Most of the time I look up and to the right. I have no idea why.

75. This is my other go to pose-where I open my mouth like I’m scared. I’m not afraid of getting my picture taken, so not sure what that’s about.

76. I’m an old soul-my boss tells me she forgets how young I am sometimes.

77. I got dizzy the first time Dylan kissed me and I tripped and almost fell over.

78. I already have names picked out for my unborn children.

79. I would like to have my first child before I’m 30 but I want to be ready.

80. I love me a White Russian drink, they’re super tasty.

81. I’m outspoken, and sometimes I worry that it works against me, because I always say how I feel.

82. I am a sucker for all things four legged, but most especially dogs.

83. I’m not a huge cat person, but I have a thing for black cats. My two family cats were black, and now Dylan’s cat is black. I think they’re good luck not bad.

84. I have mini rituals when I eat certain snack foods-I like to savor all of the good parts for last. Like with smores pop tarts when I was little-I would always eat the outside first, saving the yummy marshmallow and chocolate center for last. I know it’s silly.

85. I have moved 11 times since 2001.

86. I have become a super fast packer/unpacker as a result.

87. I secretly love unpacking-there’s something about organizing and getting my home set up that I love.

88. Sometimes people don’t realize I’m only 5ft because I have such a big personality. I can’t tell you how many times people have said, “Wow you’re only 5ft, I didn’t notice!”

89. I like video games more than my boyfriend.

90. My boyfriend says I have “man style” because I like dark colors and modern black furniture.

91. I love Scrabble but I suck at it. I can never think of words with more than 3 letters.

92. I love to reread old books as if they were new. I try to forget them so it’s like a brand new book again.

93. I used to play mud football with the guys and it once earned me the nickname “The Littlest Amazon” when I gave the only other girl playing a bloody nose.

94. I’m a planner and I hate “winging it”.

95. I have an uncanny ability to remember song lyrics, even if I haven’t heard the song in years. I wish I could remember my biology course work like I can remember songs from the early 90s…

96. I love to quote things, like comedians, movies, and TV shows. I think I’m 50% Tess, 50% quotes.

97. When I was in high school I went through a very brief “Punk Rock” phase. I wore a spiked collar and a shirt with flames on it. I listened to Korn and had a boyfriend in a rock band who played bass. I thought I was so cool. I looked ridiculous.

98. I had my first kiss when I was 14, with a boy I had a crush on. I thought the kiss was disgusting-he shoved his tongue down my throat and it felt like a slug. The next day I found out he had a girlfriend. My bad luck with men began early!

99. I’m completely addicted to blogging. I love it, and I love the blogging community. What in the world did I do with my free time before blogging?

100. I really wish my Mom and Pops lived closer to me. I miss them a lot, and I wish I could visit more than once or twice a year.

101. I don’t know what I’d do without my puppy and my birdie. Sure they drive me nuts sometimes but those animals are my world!

102. When I get the money to finally travel I have two stops on my agenda: Mississippi and North Carolina to see my two favorite ladies!

So here are 102 random things about me, starting with the first 51

1. I waited to be born till after my dad came home from work, and I was apparently a very quick and easy labor. My mom said I’ve been trying to please people ever since.

2. My older brother was my best friend till he went into 1st grade and some kid told him it’s not cool to be friends with your sister. To this day I wish we had a closer relationship.

3. I grew up on a quasi farm-we had goats, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, a hamster, at one point a ferret, and one sheep. Not a herd, just one.

4. My stepdad killed and ate the lamb-her name was Precious. He actually said, “Mhmm, Precious sure tastes good.” Mean. He was just playing around though.

5. My stepdad has been the best father to me I could have ever asked for.

6. My stepdad was my track coach in high school, and I couldn’t run a race without hugging him first and getting a pep talk.

7. I have a really strong connection with my mom. Sometimes I think we can read each other’s minds.

8. My mom is manic depressive, but she doesn’t let it rule her life. She is the strongest woman I know.

9. When I was a little girl I loved the color pink. I wanted a pink house, pink car, pink everything. When I got a little older I was a huge tomboy and hated pink. In college, I dyed my hair pink.

10. In 6th grade, I was part of the junior pep squad. We performed at half time for a high school football game and I thought I was really cool. I watched a video of it when I got older and it turns out I’m really uncoordinated.

11. I’m a lefty but I only own right handed scissors.

12. Because I’m a south paw I have a hard time learning dance and cheer moves. I was a cheerleader for one year and the captain of the cheer squad used to call me retarded and make me run laps because I always wanted to go the left instead of the right.

13. When I was little I used to rearrange my room for fun. I think this was the start of my OCD. I still love to rearrange things.

14. I’m a huge tomboy and when I was a kid, and I used to wish I had a guy’s name, like Nick or Sam. I also used to wear big baggy sweatshirts and backwards baseball caps.

15. I can’t add in my head to save my life. I wish I could go back in time to grade school and get better teaching because I still count on my fingers when no one is looking.

16. I have this insatiable need for everyone to love me, even if they aren’t a big part of my life. I can’t stand the idea of someone not liking me. It actually keeps me up at night.

17. I get really bad stomach aches when I’m upset, and I carry all of my stress in my tummy. This is probably why I had such bad stomach problems for years. I’m learning how to relax.

18. I love to run but I hate treadmills and public gyms. It makes running in the winter suck!

19. I’ve only broken one bone in my body-my left wrist in the first grade. It was a hairline fraction and it was so minimal that my parents thought it was just a sprang for about a week.

20. I’m a huge book worm, and I love to get lost in a good book. If I’m engrossed in a book, I won’t hear a word you’re saying to me.

21. I have a hard time watching sad movies because I usually get depressed afterwards. I get too involved in the story and have trouble separating it from my own life.

22. I had a stuffy nose my entire life, up until about 10 months ago when I finally got allergy tests. Turns out my chronic colds were allergies to dustmites, dogs, and cats.

23. If I weren’t allergic to my dog’s hair I would still let him sleep in our bed.

24. I love that Dylan and I can be complete goofballs together.

25. I’m sure that Dill and I were meant to be together, and I think the mistakes I made in my past prepared me for him now and have allowed me to appreciate him that much more.

26. I love taking pictures and I’m pretty sure that my kids are going to have eye trouble with how much flashbulbs they’ll see. I take pictures of everything and I am the official “memory keeper” of my family.

27. It’s ironic because I have a horrible memory. I take pictures partly because it helps me remember events better. Maybe I’m a visual learner?

28. I love sitcoms, and I love to watch them in marathon fashion. For awhile I became obsessed with the show Friends and watched every episode over and over again. I have endless Friends quotes for every occasion.

29. Chandler is my favorite Friends character.

30. If I were a Friends character, I know it would be Monica. I just hope that I never give in to those neurotic tendencies , even though I do secretly have a panic attack when I see messes.

31. I love to bake and I wish I had more time to do it.

32. I want to become a better cook, and I think it’d be so much fun to take a cooking class someday.

33. I love to sing karaoke and I won the first competition I ever competed in. It was only a small bar competition but it made me happy.

34. Ironically I hate to perform and I often just stand still and sing. I wish I could get up and dance and be animated. I’m much more animated if I’m singing a duet.

35. It is one of my lifelong dreams to sing in a band and perform for an audience. One day…

36. I want to learn how to take dance. I’m hoping to convince Dill Pickle to take swing, salsa, or ballroom dancing with me someday. Last time we danced together I stepped all over his feet.

37. I pierced my belly button when I turned 21, instead of 18 like most people. My mom said I went through my rebellious stage a little late in life.

38. I got rid of my belly piercing when I was 24 because I felt fat and I really regret it. Now I have an ugly scar and no cute piercing.

39. My 22 year old little brother is expecting baby #2 and I’m a little jealous even though I’m not ready.

40. I know I’m going to love being a mom. I think I was born to be a parent in some ways.

41. I secretly fear I will make my children neurotic and OCD about cleaning.

42. I’m terrified of giving birth. If I could have a kid without that part, I’d feel so much better about the whole thing. I’m also afraid I’ll gain a ton of weight and my body will never recover.Oh, and I heard some women poo on the table. SERIOUSLY?!

43. I don’t like people watching me spit. It took me a month to brush my teeth in front of Dylan.

44. I love texting and I don’t know what I’ve done all these years without it. I do enjoy a good talk on the phone with certain people, but texting is great for getting quick ideas across. Plus I love to look at them later-it’s more of that jogging of the ol’ memory thing.

45. I have a really hard time keeping girlfriends. I’ve been really hurt in the past, and it’s hard to trust them. Plus I just don’t like a lot of girlie things. I blame it on growing up with three brothers.

46. I hate clothes shopping so much. If I ever become rich the first thing I want is a personal shopper who will pick out my clothes for me.

47. I love sweatpants and pj pants (sleep pants right Queen? hehe). Nothing is better than curling up in sweats and watching tv with my sweetie.

48. I wish I had a core group of friends that I could hang out with on a given night. I’ve always had a lot of different friends, but never one specific group that I was a part of.

49. When I’m nervous I shake, kind of like a chihuahua. It’s embarrassing and I can’t control it.

50. I don’t like working in groups, and prefer to work alone. I also like to work with tv or noise in the background, but hate it when I can hear coworkers talking. Weird right?

51. I hate my nose and I’ve always thought of it as a huge honker. Dylan likes to rub it and is the only person who made me feel like it was cute.

I was absolutely terrified of what could have been if McCain/Palin had won the election. I wasn’t as against McCain as I was Palin-I shudder to think of what that woman would have done being that close to being Commander in Chief. I think it would have made the last 8 years look mellow and carefree by comparison. But thankfully we can rest easy, knowing that we don’t have to worry about that crazy evangelist getting any more power than she already has.

And now, it is time to celebrate. Crack open the bubbly, uncork the wine, because we finally have a true leader!!

*SPOILER ALERT*

The show starts with Ted reflecting on being left at the alter by Stella-one of the sadder moments in HIMYM history. I loved it because he talks about moving on and how he’s doing fine, and all his friends look at him and go, “um, Ted, the wedding was yesterday!” I love his denial because it is so something I would do. I’ve had my share of heartbreaks, and my solution is to just move on and pretend it doesn’t bother me.

Then Ted busts out the line, “Why confront something when you can avoid it?”So classic! So true! But the episode had such a good moral, and it’s another reason I love the show so much. They touch on key topics that really matter in life, but they crack you up along the way. Barney always makes the show with his super creeper stints too.

So the whole episode is about people that each friend wants to avoid, and how they would freak out if they ran into that person from their past. For Ted, it was Stella, who actually shows up at the restaurant where they all are. The gang decides to hide under the table, where they tell the stories of who they would avoid. At one point Barney gets up and hides under the other table, where there are pretty girls in skirts-the little creepster! Of course his story is about a girl he dates in prison for conjugal visits, ha.

At the end of the episode, Ted is about to confront Stella and tell her dumping him at the alter, and about leaving him for her ex, when he sees the family outside their apartment. He sees how happy they are, and how Stella made the right choice by leaving him. Ted realized it was the perfect end to a love story, but the story just wasn’t his. It was a great episode, but of course it leaves us wondering, who is Ted going to end up with?! It is the stuff that keeps us watching, and I can’t wait for next week’s episode.

Last night’s episode started off with funny Halloween costumes, but they quickly skipped forward to the next day. I was kind of confused by the flow of the show-I felt like they should have shown more Halloween fun. Still, it was funny to see Dwight, Creed, and Kevin all dressed up as the Joker. Creed’s costume was intense! He looked so much like the real deal.

So skipping to the part where I’m completely disappointed by The Office storyline and its writers. Michael finally has a great girl-Holly, and they barely get a chance to be together and they write her off. I knew that was bound to happen, because that is what every sitcom does. They let you fall for a sweet couple and they break them up. Why writers, why do you do this to us? Like there isn’t enough sadness in this world? I loved how Holly would dork out with Michael, it brought so much to the show. So now are we going to have Jan back? Plus Holly moving to her old job just like that? Does she love Dundar Mifflin so much? Maybe there will be an opportunity for her to come back on the show. I really hope so-it’s about time Michael was able to settle down.

It was good to see Pam and Jim together-I can’t wait for her to come back to the Scranton branch. Or maybe for her to get a real job that she loves-but just the opportunity for her and Jim to have more camera time together. They’re the heart of the show in my opinion, and it sucks that she’s gone. I am hoping that the next episode is happier, because this one was pretty much a big downer in my book.

I love that Pam and Jim have this really relaxed, playful relationship. They can tease each other, and they can be themselves. They’re just fun, and they seem like a genuine couple. I hope the writers keep them together.

Angela:

Sometimes the clothes at the Gap Kids are just too flashy so I’m forced to go to American Girl and order clothes for large Colonial dolls.

She’s kind of creepy the way she loves dollhouses, cats, and all things litte girl. Yet she has this evil streak and does things like hook up with Dwight even though she’s dating Andy. It’s crazy, but you gotta love her for all her bitchiness.

From How I Met Your Mother-

Ted:

Look, this woman could actually be my future wife. I want our first kiss to be amazing.

I love him for his hopeless romantic ways. I love him for his idealism, and how great he is as a friend.

Barney:

Look, our forefathers died for the “pursuit of happiness,” okay? Not for the “sit around and wait of happiness.” Now if you want, we can go to the same bar, drink the same beer, talk to the same people every day or you can lick the Liberty Bell. You can grab life by the crack and lick the crap out of it.

For all his devious ways, and his player behavior, deep down he’s a great guy. When he brought Lily back to NY from San Francisco it showed his true character.

Marshall & Lily:

Lily: We should come up with a whole new last name.

Marshall: Oh, that’s easy; Lily and Marshall Skywalker.

Lily: Lily and Marshall Hasselhoff.

Marshall: Oh, got it. Lily and Marshall Awesome. Have you met our children, our son Totally and our daughter Freaking?

Oh this couple, sigh. I like to think that Dill and I are a lot like Marshall and Lily-we’re a little bit mushy. Ok, we’re a LOT mushy just like them, and we’re comfortable yet we are still crazy for each other. That’s Marshmallow and Lilypad. Love em!

Samantha Who?-

Samantha:

Stupid old me! The old me really screw the new me over, didn’t she? How am I suppose to start fresh? when my past keeps reaching into my future and pulling me into my present!

I love good Sam, but I can’t stand bad Sam. It’s cute to watch her cringe at how she used to be. I confess, I’ve had me some “Bad Tess” moments and I shudder at them as well.

Dena:

Samantha: My heart is still beating like crazy. You gotta feel this. (takes Dena’s hand and places it on her chest)
Dena: Yeah, I’m kind of creeped out by the fact that there’s something in our chests that’s pumping blood. I do not like that.

She’s Samantha’s sweet, dorky yet loveable friend from high school. She’s fun because she’s so naive at times. I adore her!

Liz: I hate going up to Donaghy’s office even for something normal. I always feel like I’m entering the Death Star. I swear if Donaghy does this [does Darth Vader force-strangle] at me, I’ll run.

Pete: You’ll be fine, Captain Needa.

Liz: No, Captain Needa dies, he dies!

She’s a quirky, independent single chick. I love that she’s got a successful job, and that she is still a big ol’ dork at heart. I see a lot of myself in Ms. Liz Lemon
